HEMLA PARTICIPATES IN THE DUBROVNIK FORUM
Hemla was invited by the Croatian Government to participate in the Dubrovnik Forum held on the 26th of August 2016 to talk, among other, about the upcoming LNG terminal at Krk Island in Croatia as part of the North-South Corridor for energy supply to Europe.
The Round Table participants included representatives of the United States Government, Houston-based Cheniere, Norwegian ship-owner and operator Hoegh and Hemla, represented by its managing director, Mr. Knut Søvold (Photo: first from the left) amongst others. The session was opened by the Minister of Economy of Croatia, His Excellency, Mr. Tomislav Panenic. The Round Table discussions covered the energy security situation, the gas supply areas, as well as the need for a diversified energy supply to Croatia.
With respect to the planned regasification terminal, Krk LNG, the US Government representatives confirmed the US support to a flexible and fast track solution. Cheniere confirmed its support of LNG supply to Europe and upcoming players. Norwegian Hoegh presented their capabilities as a FSRU provider. Hemla, as the final participant of the Round Table session, presented an overall outlook of the supply of LNG worldwide, the current competitive market from a buyer's perspective, the domestic use of LNG as fuel in transport / coastal ferries as an environmental benefit to the region, as well as the benefits of a fast-track solution with the appliction of a floating solution (FSRU).
